This year’s show is titled “Our Susquehanna Valley”. This year’s show will feature a theme section, “Our Historic Susquehanna Valley” which will highlight persons, places or things significant to the area. Some of the representations will be Lock Haven’s Piper Aircraft Co., Woolrich and the woolen mill, Penn College’s entrance, the Salvation Army, the Quaker Village of Pennsdale, Sullivan County’s Ticklish Rock and other scenes in the county including a covered bridge in Sonestown, the Rockville Bridge in Dauphin County and other subjects along the entire Susquehanna Valley.
There are approximately 200 entries from large bed quilts to miniature wall hangings. There will be quilts that have been pieced and quilted by hand to those that are pieced and quilted by machine. The quilts range from functionally traditional to “painting with fabrics and threads”. They are all works of art.
Vendors will be selling quilt related items including fabrics, patterns, quilting notions, books, quilt racks, sewing machines and other items related to quilting. Hoover’s Bernina from Mifflinburg will be giving away a new Bernina 215 (value $1149) at the show. There will also be a “quilter’s corner” where notions, books, fabric, items made or donated by guild members and other miscellaneous items can be purchased. Lunch is also available.
