Duryea, Luzerne County- Get ready to take a magical journey to Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory! The Phoenix Kids of the Phoenix Performing Arts Centre in Duryea are presenting “Willy Wonka’ the musical.
There will be three weekends of shows.  September 13 through September 29.  Friday and Saturday the curtain goes up at 7 pm.  Sunday matinees at 2 pm.  The theatre is located on Main Street in Duryea. Tickets are $10
Here’s the story:  The world is astounded when Willy Wonka, for years a recluse in his factory, announces that five lucky people will be given a tour of the factory, shown all the secrets of his amazing candy, and one will win a lifetime supply of Wonka chocolate. Nobody wants the prize more than young Charlie, but as his family is so poor that buying even one bar of chocolate is a treat, buying enough bars to find one of the five golden tickets is unlikely in the extreme. But he soon finds out that magic can happen. Charlie, along with four somewhat odious other children, get the chance of a lifetime and a tour of the factory. Along the way, mild disasters befall each of the odious children, but can Charlie beat the odds and grab the brass ring? Come find out as we take that journey through the factory and see who wins the prize.

Willie Wonka is under the Direction of Lee LaChette, Assistant Director,Eric Shemelewski
Choreographers:  Lisa Knight and Michela Pantano and Musical Director:  Jackie Legg
