On Thursday, April 17th, The Garden At desaki and The Trapasso family hosted another outstanding Martini’s and Manicures event. All proceeds from the event will help children heal from the affects of domestic and sexual violence. “Disturbingly, 1 in 4 girls and 1 in 6 boys will be sexually assaulted before the age of 18,” says Carol Andersen, Manager of Grants and Fund Development for Women’s Resources of Monroe County. “Child victims of domestic and sexual violence experience an array of overwhelming and intense feelings. Yet with support from our generous community, our specially-trained counselors can help children begin the journey towards healing and hope. We are grateful to Vincent and Charlie Lynn Trapasso and the entire staff at both desaki and The Spa at Mount Airy for setting the stage for another fun and tasteful night out. Those who stepped out as models for The Apple Tree on Main and Dunkelbergers for Men made the night extra special”. Several hundred women and a few men came out in support of Women’s Resources and raised more than $6,600 for the children’s counseling program.
