The Lackawanna County Commissioners recognized the “Good Works” of the Valley View High School Biology Club for its efforts in preserving the environment.  The club organized a school-wide recycling competition, which entailed collecting plastic shopping bags.  The students collected 37,000 bags, which were sent to Target for recycling.  The junior and senior chemistry fourth block classes won the competition gathering 11,000 bags from family and friends, earning a pizza party.
