The Drs. Robert S. and Judith A. Gardner Education Forum at Wilkes University recently hosted guest speaker Karen Lindsay on March 25 as part of the forum’s spring lecture series. Lindsay spoke to an audience of certified teachers, Wilkes faculty, and pre-service teachers about the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s policy regarding the mandatory reporting of child abuse.
Lindsay is an education department trainer for the Victims Resource Center of Wilkes-Barre. She also performs adult training in mandatory abuse reporting, pre-school to second grade child safety programs and healthy relationship programs, including anti-bullying in grades three through eight in Luzerne, Wyoming and Carbon Counties.
The Gardner Education Forum Series features experts sharing information on educational topics. All events are free and open to the public. Educators can earn Act 48 credit for attending. The forum will resume in the fall semester. For more information, please contact Robert Gardner at 800WILKESU, Ext. 4686, or email him at
