ECKLEY – Eckley Miners’ Village is searching for a volunteer coordinator to help recruit, train, and enhance our volunteer corps.  This volunteer position will work closely with museum and associate staff to make sure that we have the structure in place to maintain our long tradition of dedicated museum volunteers.
The volunteer coordinator would be in charge of organizing volunteer-led committees not only for programs, but for general site activities such as beautification. The volunteer coordinator will work with our editor to generate newsletter content for our associate and volunteer members and develop and maintain a database. The volunteer coordinator will also work very closely with our Board of Directors and will report to the president.  Overall the core component of the volunteer coordinator position is to create a structure in which all volunteers will be able to learn, work efficiently, find personal satisfaction, and carry on a standard of excellence here at Eckley Miner’s Village.  Eckley offers a professional museum office environment with many dedicated and enthusiastic volunteers.  Anticipated hours 15-20 per week.  Interested individuals are requested to send a letter of interest and resume by April 15, 2014 to Site Administrator, Eckley Miners’ Village, 2 Eckley Main St., Weatherly, PA 18255 or by email to bmorin@pa.gov.
Eckley Miners’ Village Associates is a registered 501(c)3 organization supporting the operations of Eckley Miners’ Village.  www.eckleyminersvillagemuseum.com.
