“It’s been a cold and blustery winter...If you’re like us, you’ve been tempted to get home at the end of the workday and settle yourself in front of a crackling fire with a hot cup of tea and a good book,” says Doni Hoffman, executive director of The Cooperage Project.
But on the 21st, The Cooperage Project and WJFF are offering an alternative that is just as appealing...a DJ Dance Party!
“We hope that you’ll mark your calendars.” says Hoffman.
“We are excited to team up with our friends at The Cooperage Project to present this homegrown, friendraising event.” says Adam Weinreich, Station Manger at WJFF Radio Catskill.
WJFF is a hydro-powered community radio station located in Jeffersonville, NY. They opened a satellite studio right here in Honesdale on the second floor of The Cooperage in the summer of 2012. WJFF runs almost entirely through the dedication and hard work of a team of volunteers… an amazing accomplishment. You can listen to the station on 90.5 FM and learn more at www.wjffradio.org.
The Cooperage Project, based in The Cooperage in Honesdale, is a not for profit organization with the goal of cultivating a strong and vibrant community. They present a range of performance events, learning opportunities and good times. You can learn more at www.thecooperageproject.org.
So what can you expect on the 21st? Well, WJFF disc jockeys will spin the beats, ranging from good ole classic rock and pop hits to current hip pop jams. There will be glow sticks. And colorful lights. And water. (You can BYOB if you’d like!) And dancing!
So remember… Friday night, February 21st from 8:00 to 11:00pm. Don’t let the cold keep you away! If the weather turns really sour we’ll postpone a week… snowdate: Friday, February 28th. For more information visit www.thecooperageproject.org or call 570.253.2020.
